“There’s just something in the timbre of James Levy’s voice—it’s rich like red wine and heady with nonchalance. If his voice were a stance, Levy would be leaning.”
“sublime record” and “smouldering album”
“What Do I Know?” is the new single from James Levy’s forthcoming album Somebody. “It’s a breakup record,” says Levy. “It’s the most personal record I’ve made.”
Levy worked with Julian Casablancas, Coldplay and Tim Wheeler of Ash on his last two records. He wrote songs for Zoe Kravitz, Zuri Marley, The Pierces and currently is working in Nashville writing with multiple artists. His next EP is being produced by Richard Gottehrer. Levy’s collaboration with Charles Bradley is out now and has received critical acclaim.
“’What Do I Know’ is one of my favorite songs on James’ new record,” says producer Paul Defiglia (Avett Brothers). “It captures a sense of isolation and longing.” Music video by Crackerfarm out today.
