2x GRAMMY® Award-winning singer and master songwriter Jim Lauderdale has created a truly unique body of work spanning more than 30 albums of imaginative roots music, encompassing country, bluegrass, soul, R&B and rock, as such helping pave the way for the current Americana movement. Lauderdale – who has released at least one, and sometimes as many as three, records every years since 1998 – is a true songwriter’s songwriter, the second most recorded writer in George Strait’s canon as well as the writer or co-writer of country hits by Patty Loveless, George Jones, Mark Chesnutt, and the Dixie Chicks. Also known as an intuitive sideman, Lauderdale has enhanced the music of countless iconic artists, including Dr. Ralph Stanley, the North Mississippi Allstars, Donna the Buffalo, Elvis Costello, and Buddy Miller. Other collaborations include albums recorded with members of Elvis Presley and gram Parson’s band – a.k.a. the Dream Lovers – as well as two collections co-written with legendary Grateful Dead collaborator Robert Hunter. As if all that weren’t enough, Lauderdale is co-host – with Buddy Miller – of SiriusXM’s weekly The Buddy & Jim Radio Show, as well as co-host of Music City Roots, Nashville’s long-running roots and Americana variety show.

“His ability to shift genres at will – from country to bluegrass and various permutations in between – is nothing short of dazzling.”
– Paste
“There’s a tune on Time Flies for every taste, and it’s Lauderdale’s creative genius that confirms that he’s the answer to that old country music question about who’s gonna fill the shoes of Jones and other country songwriters.”

TIME FLIES sees Lauderdale doing what he does best, writing and performing classic Americana distinctively infused with striking notes of country and soul. Produced by Lauderdale and Jay Weaver at Nashville’s Blackbird Studio and House of Blues Studios, the album is among the most striking works of this one-of-a-kind artist’s three decade career, once again demonstrating his remarkable lyrical gifts and genre-agnostic musical approach. Songs like the stirring title track offer able evidence that Lauderdale’s creative mission continues unabated, his ability to rejuvenate his sound indomitable.
JIM LAUDERDALE AND ROLAND WHITE is Lauderdale’s previously unreleased first full-length record, a collection of classic bluegrass recorded in the basement of Earl and Louise Scruggs’ Nashville home in the summer of 1979 and then lost for nearly four decades. Lauderdale was new to town at the time, while White was already a true bluegrass legend, known for his mastery of the mandolin and foundation of such iconic groups as The Kentucky Colonels and Country Gazette. Sadly the master tapes went missing for 39 years and were only recently rediscovered at the bottom of a box by White’s wife. As remarkable, energetic, and original today as it was when initially recorded, JIM LAUDERDALE AND ROLAND WHITE provides an intimate look into the nascent beginnings of a truly extraordinary American artist.

Yep Roc Records is proud to announce the new LP from 2x GRAMMY® Award-winning Americana legend Jim Lauderdale. FROM ANOTHER WORLD arrives everywhere on Friday, June 21.
FROM ANOTHER WORLD is heralded by today’s release of “The Secrets of the Pyramids,” available now. A progressive take on traditional country, the mysteries of the human heart and the eternal, never-ending search for greater love and understanding, the track – which includes harmonies from Third Man country singer-songwriter Lillie Mae and her brother Frank Rische – arrives alongside a stunning new companion video, co-starring Nashville-based singer-songwriter Elizabeth Cook and directed by award-winning Australian filmmaker Jeremy Dylan (Jim Lauderdale: The King of Broken Hearts). “The Secrets of the Pyramids” – which pays sly homage to Toto’s iconic “Africa” video – is streaming now following its exclusive premiere via Rolling Stone Country.

Lauderdale’s 32nd studio album, FROM ANOTHER WORLD sees him reuniting with the team behind last year’s acclaimed TIME FLIES, including co-producer/bassist Jay Weaver and GRAMMY® Award-winning engineer David Leonard (Prince, John Mellencamp, Toto). A dynamic mix of solo gems and collaborations with such like-minded co-writers as country legend Melba Montgomery, award-winning producer-songwriter Buddy Cannon, and emerging Americana star Logan Ledger, the 12-song LP represents Lauderdale’s antidote to the anger, divisiveness of today’s world, a world full of bad news and folks yelling at each other on CNN. From the hard-charging opener, ‘Some Horses Run Free,’ to the tender “Listen,” this is music from another world, a world of empathy, love, forgiveness and humility. Where people find freedom through togetherness, where they struggle to change for the better, where country music still cries with the sound of pedal steel guitar and psychedelic-tinged lyrics flow through aching indelible melodies.
“A long time ago, I decided that with each record, I would ignore the categories people tried to put me into and just make the music that was in my heart,” says Lauderdale. “This album is about the search for connection, love and understanding between people, about finding empathy in a world where it feels like folks are more and more at loggerheads. When the world outside your window feels too tough to bear, I hope you’ll step into the world we’ve created here.”
Lauderdale will mark the arrival of FROM ANOTHER WORLD with an assortment of live dates, among them festival performances including this weekend’s third annual Suwannee Spring Reunion in Live Oak, FL (Saturday, March 23 and Sunday, March 24) and Wilkesboro, NC’s Merlefest (Saturday, April 27 and Sunday, April 28). Additional live dates will be announced soon – please see www.jimlauderdale.com for updates and more.

TIME FLIES – released in 2018 simultaneously with Lauderdale’s previously unreleased first full-length record,JIM LAUDERDALE AND ROLAND WHITE – received ecstatic reviews upon its arrival last year. “It’s an awe-inspiring demonstration of versatility,” raved Paste, “enough to fill several volumes and not merely be contained by a single one.” Rolling Stone praised the LP’s title track as “a warm, reverential reflection on the passage of the years, a rippling Southern rock ballad that unfurls like smoke in the furthest reaches of the memory,” whilst American Songwriter wrote, “Lauderdale makes use of the expanded sounds and styles he’s amassed over the years, from old-time country, western swing, prickly southern rock, and slow-burning r&b balladry.” TIME FLIES “continues Lauderdale’s prolonged streak of unfailing quality, memorable songs and great performances,” declared Associated Press. “Best of all, he’ll probably release another one just as good in a year or so.” The Irish Times summed it up: “It is hard to define Lauderdale, other than by his winning smile, his penchant for Nudie suits and his determination to make good music, solo or in collaboration. This 11-track collection deserves a place among his best.”
