Maggie Miles is a witty 21-year-old alt-pop artist that relishes in comedic relief during the awkward coming-of-age years of her life. Much like her peers Maggie Rogers and Billie Eilish, she exudes authenticity which the modern generation is desperately craving. Originally from the Western Hills of Northern Virginia, she recently moved to Nashville to pursue music full time. Maggie grew up on the soulful vocals of vintage artists like Stevie Nicks and Ann Wilson, but has found 90s grunge to be a major source of inspiration as of late. She meshes all of her influences together with pounding, anthemic instrumentals to create a sound that’s all her own. In her music, Maggie addresses the conflicts of life through sharp-hitting lyrics textured in alternative rhythms with pop sensibilities that paint a compelling picture of our imperfect existence. The contrast of her jangly sounds and perceptive lyrics are a result of her commitment to connectivity through the honest expression of the human condition. She explains, “I make music for the utter reason alone that I need to create something for myself that makes sense, when nothing else around me does.”
At an early age, Maggie was exposed to live music from her father, who played in a Celtic rock band. Later on, he became a pastor, leading Maggie to sing in church for her first time at the age of 17. Towards the end of high school, Maggie applied to a Christian music school, but a week before move-in day, she found out her scholarships fell through. As she watched all her friends go away to school, Maggie got a job as a barista at a local coffee shop and began to focus on making music. Soon after, a friend entered Maggie in a raffle contest at a local fair, where she won her first recording session.
Not only can Maggie sing, but she also plays the piano, drums, guitar, ukulele, mandolin, banjo, bass, and keytar. She even opts to play a right-handed strat with her left hand.
Maggie did not perform for an audience until she was 18, but when she started her solo gigs, she was quickly discovered by Bruce Gates after performing at Pearl Street Warehouse in Washington, DC. It was at this point that she relocated to Nashville and signed to a management and artist development deal with Warehouse West Entertainment. Maggie is represented by Josh Bracken (Loeb & Loeb), as well as Lillian Williams (O’Neil Hagaman) for business management. She’s been featured on Billboard, American Songwriter, and more.

LISTEN TO “WHATDOISAY?”
FEBRUARY 18, 2020 (Nashville, TN) – Today rising alt artist Maggie Miles releases her latest single “WHATDOISAY?,” a hard hitting pop-infused track that perfectly captures a heavy mind on the move, contemplating everything at once, looking for the answers. She is currently on tour with upcoming shows in Bowling Green, Atlanta, Austin, Dallas, Houston, New York and D.C., with stints in Nashville of course, her new hometown, at the High Watt this Thursday, February 20 and Whiskey Jam the following Thursday, February 27.
“WHATDOISAY?” premiered via tastemaker outlet Variance Magazine, who said Maggie “showcases a Maggie-Rogers-meets-Clairo level of pop on the new song.”
Maggie explains that, “WHATDOISAY? analyzes the questions that everyone wonders in certain situations. What do I say when I’m losing my faith, when I don’t know what’s going on, when I’m not sure I believe anymore? Glistening with a poppy chorus, I want the song to cause the listener to have a sense of levity amongst the darker lyrics.”
Evident of seemingly inherent talent, Maggie’s sound is all her own, standing apart from the rest in a time when bedroom pop is flooding the playlists and airwaves. Her previous single “Shiver” even garnered the attention of Billboard and American Songwriter.

“Maggie Miles may be a newcomer on the scene, but her thunderous voice and her ability to put so much meaning behind one song show that she’s a force in the making.”
TheNewNine
Today rising alt-pop artist Maggie Miles shares the new single “Swim.” Her powerful tune could not have come at a more crucial time. It builds to a climax before spiraling out of control, commanding the listener’s attention with Maggie at the center of it all, struggling to stay afloat and find strength to tread amongst the chaos of her own mind. Though the song’s theme is timeless, it resonates even deeper with the influx of emotions the world is currently experiencing. “Swim” follows her latest single and first co-write in Nashville, “WHATDOISAY?,” a hard hitting pop-infused track that has been featured on a slew of playlists, everything from New Music Friday to, Indie Pop, Fresh Finds and more. Her previous single “Shiver” even garnered the attention of Billboard and American Songwriter. Evident of seemingly inherent talent, Maggie’s sound is all her own, standing apart from the rest in a time when bedroom pop is flooding the playlists and airwaves. With over 60K monthly listeners on Spotify, it’s clear that audiences are quickly taking note of her artistry.
LISTEN TO “SWIM”
“We all encounter this question at times,” Maggie shares her feelings on “Swim,” “You can’t tell if you’re barely above the waves; just doggy paddling, gasping every chance you can. Or if you’re absolutely still, floating on your back, letting the density of your state of mind hold you atop the water. Whatever it is, we’ve all been there. And acknowledging the darkness that can make itself home in the space behind your eyes is key to pushing on. This song helped me understand myself better, and I hope for your sake as the listener, it can do the same.”
The up-and-coming singer-songwriter has had her share of obstacles along the way and continues to swim. Earlier this month, Maggie was set to perform in her relatively new hometown of Nashville, when unfortunately a tornado touched down and tore the city apart. Always making the most of situations and forging ahead, Maggie continued with her show and made it a benefit, raising almost 2K in about 24 hours. In September, Maggie is set to make her first appearance at Bonnaroo in TN, in the coveted SheRoo stage, a special facet of the music and arts festival, one that celebrates the power of femininity and creates a safe space for individual identity. Furthermore, Yamaha is currently sponsoring Maggie as part of their emerging artist program, and they plan to launch some highly curated video content later this year.

Maggie Miles is a young artist with a high energy about her, and she wears her emotions on her sleeve. It’s honest and vulnerable, just like music should be. These emotions are visceral, and she shares them with fans through her music in hopes of bringing people together and making others feel heard. Today she shares “Deserve This,” a song about battling depression and coming to grips with one’s feelings. She wants listeners to know that whatever they’re feeling, good or bad, those feelings are valid, and there is always a light at the end of the tunnel.
Miles explains in her own words: “There’s moments where depression can manipulate our thinking into a spiral. We come to the conclusion that we “deserve” to feel the way we do, that this is something you’ve purposefully caused. Sometimes, I for whatever reason, allow negativity to marinate, sinking deeper and deeper into it simply to feel something. This song helped me figure this out. I wrote it standing on the other side of a paradigm like the one just expressed and noticed it helped me feel less alone, and I hope that you as the listener can feel that too. Because that is something everyone deserves…to be seen.”
“Deserve This,” much like her recent single “Swim,” comes at an important time. With everyone in quarantine, habits are broken and a lot of people are experiencing emotional irregularity. These new songs dive into those emotions and find hope at the root of it all.
Maggie’s other recent song, and her first co-write in Nashville, “WHATDOISAY?,” a hard hitting pop-infused track, has been the favorite on a slew of playlists, everything from New Music Friday to, Indie Pop, Fresh Finds and more. She’s been featured on Variance, Billboard and American Songwriter. MAGGIE MILES AND MANIC.
DEBUT OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO FOR
“NOTHING WITH YOU”
MANIC.’S DEBUT EP OUT AUGUST 21
In July of 2020, newcomers Maggie Miles and the duo Manic. collaborated to make a single that captures the loneliness of loving. The track, titled “Nothing With You”, is the first single off Manic.’s upcoming debut EP will be released August 21, 2020. Maggie Miles and Manic. make for a perfect blend of dark and edgy pop. “Nothing With You” is an anthemic song we all need in this time period.
The music video showcases the three artists in a nostalgic and dark alt pop fusion. The videos’ captivating scenes give an all too familiar feeling to the viewer displaying the young and reckless side of the artists that makes you feel as though you’re in a coming of age film.
Manic. is a pop rock band formed in 2015 by writer/multi-instrumentalist/frontman Nicholas (Bedhead) Banos in Arvada, CO. Now based in Nashville, TN, the group consists of Bedhead & guitarist/songwriter/ vocalist Liam B. Smith (aka: Sly Boy). The duo blends together an array of genres, drawing influence from 80’s pop, alternative rock, grunge, r&b, blues, new wave, jazz, hip hop, industrial rock, & dark pop. The band’s work focuses on different dichotomies by creating both hifi & lofi soundscapes & marring them with image & sometimes spoken word. The band’s first single, “Gone”, debut early 2019 via Alternative Press and has over 135,000 streams on Spotify alone.
Much like some of her peers, Maggie Rogers and Billie Eilish, Maggie Miles exudes authenticity which the modern generation is desperately craving. Originally from the Western Hills of Northern Virginia, she then moved to Nashville to pursue music full time. Maggie grew up on the soulful vocals of vintage artists but has found 90s grunge to be a major source of inspiration as of late. She meshes all of her influences together with pounding, anthemic instrumentals to create a sound that’s all her own. In her music, she addresses the conflicts of life through sharp-hitting lyrics textured in alternative rhythms with pop sensibilities that paint a compelling picture of our imperfect existence. The contrast of her jangly sounds and perceptive lyrics are a result of her commitment to connectivity through the honest expression of the human condition. She shares, “I make music for the utter reason alone that I need to create something for myself that makes sense, when nothing else around me does.”
This collaboration is a perfect blend of melancholy lyrics about love and alternative lo-fi pop. Manic. and Maggie Miles’ creation of “Nothing With You” is a raw and honest take on life, and the video is the perfect portrait of youth stuck at home this summer in quarantine.
